Linkage

A collection of cool sites, friends, and inspiration from around the web. This page is always going to be evolving the most. Note that the Cool People / Friends section is going to be shortest for now only because most of my friends are still primarily on social media, which is okay.

Cool People / Friends

  • Mike Watt's Hoot Page - The legend himself.
  • The Tim "Napalm" Stegall Substack - My brother from another mother, frontman/guitarist of The Hormones, and one of America's finest music writers.
  • Two Broads, One Fork - A foodie YouTube channel hosted by former ECW personality Francine. (You're also going to see the wrestling-related content from her old podcast Eyes Up Here there as well; she retconned and renamed her original channel when 2026 started.)
  • One Revived - Local psychobilly band featuring essential brother Riggz Miller on guitar. (Sorry about this being a Facebook page -- they need to get an actual website soon!)
  • Kartune - A fine cover band from my home area that's also done their own material and doesn't just play the same thirty songs as here-today, gone-tomorrow bar bands. I've known their frontman since high school.
  • One Legged Luthier - The YouTube page of former Graphic Violence and Beyond Fallen guitarist Butch Frable, retired from playing guitars but not from fixing, modifying, or building them!

Inspiration & Resources

  • Haruki Murakami - Probably my favorite author of all time. Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman, his second collection of short stories, was a mindblow when I read it and got me to write seriously again.
  • Stephen King - Even if you're not a big horror fan, his On Writing: A Mamoir of the Craft is a crucial read for any aspiring (or ongoing) writer.
  • BMI (Broadcast Music. Inc.) - The performance rights organization I am a writer and publisher member of.
  • Amuse - The folks who help distribute my recorded material digitally.
  • Splice - The best site for producers of all levels to get programs, plugins, and samples.
  • TrackLib - A great service for easily licensed samples.
  • Goodreads - Track your past reads and find your next. You can also follow my author profile there.
  • Neocities - The home of the new indie web.
  • W3Schools - Great place to learn HTML/CSS.
  • Phoenix Code - Free HTML editor for whatever OS you use.
  • Blinkies Café - Site where some of the blinkies on the index page were made.
  • Blinkie Maker - Another nlinkie generator.
  • Glitter Graphics - A source for premake GIFs.
  • Wed Button Maker - For those 88x31 beauties.
  • SquidWTF - Audio downloader
  • TidBits - Mac info page because I'm primarily a Mac user.
  • Schwarztech - Another cool Mac info page.
  • Macintouch - Yet another cool Mac info page.
  • Ubunto Studio - the version of Linux that I'm experimenting with.
  • Linux Today - Good Linux infos.
  • OMG! Ubuntu - Infos on the Linux distro I currently use.
  • Linux.com - The site title says it all.
  • Linux Journal - Another good Linux news page.
  • It's FOSS - Beginner-friendly Linux stuff.
  • TuxURLs - A one-stop site for Linux infos.

Music & Art

  • yeule - My favorite current singer. Check out her entire discography.
  • BLACKPINK - Fair warning: I have been a "Blink" since their debut in 2016 and I stan Rosé and Lisa.
  • Henry Rollins - The true king of all media.
  • Devo - Mutate, don't stagnate!
  • Tangerine Dream - The pioneers.
  • Morrissey Central - The official website of The Pope Of Mope.
  • Glenn Gould - My favorite classical pianist. A genius. A provocateur. A legend.
  • Wendy Carlos - The great American synth pioneer. All ideas of the synthesizer not being a real instrument were obliterated the day she released Switched-On Bach in 1969. (She really needs to get her back catalog on streaming services so that everyone can hear her genius and she can get some extra dosh from it.)
  • Neil Young Archives- Uncle Neil. The Godfather of Grunge. The Great Canerican.
  • Guided By Voices - America's most prolific band.
  • Dischord Records - One of America's greatest punk/indie labels. Home of Fugazi and Minor Threat.
  • Alternative Tentacles Records - The most eclectic "punk" label ever.
  • Asian Man Records - Long-running punk/ska label.
  • ItalianProg.com - The web version of a regularly updated physical book about the prog rock subgenre.
  • Apple Music - My preferred music streaming service. Because fuck S*****y and their shitty lossy files, their fraction-of-a-penny royalties, their clogging their service with podcast and audiobook nonsense and their refusal to pay artists who get less than a thousand streams.
  • Apple Classical - Apple Music's sub-service dedicated to classical music. This link brings you to their web player, but they have apps for iOS and Android as well.
  • Beatport - The great electronic dance music download and streaming store. This is why most EDM DJs carry their "crate" on a thumb drive now!
  • Deutsche Grammophon - The first and greatest classical record label.
  • Sony Classical - Home of the libraries of both Columbia Masterworks and RCA Victor Red Seal (two labels I grew up knowing as a kid) and still going with new artists and releases.
  • Decca Classics - Like Sony Classical, they balance historical back catalog (Decca, London, Philips and Mercury Living Presence) with new releases.
  • Harmonia Mundi - Another favorite classical label.
  • BIS - Yet another favorite classical label.
  • Naxos - Another favorite classical label. Some "purists" hate on this label because they're a so-called "budget" label, but IMO anyone curious about classical music wanting to explore the repertoire without spending a fortune can look here.
  • Brilliant Classics - Another so-called "budget" label, but one specializing in box sets dedicated to one composer, period, or instrument.
  • Presto Music - A great place for buying both physical media and digital downloads of classical music. They also have a streaming service.
  • Classical Archives - I blundered into this site while double-checking the web addresses of some of the other labels I wanted to link here, liked what I saw, and had to include this one. Looks like a lot of fun to broswe through.
  • Bandcamp Daily
  • Discogs - best place to find new and used records, tapes and CDs.
  • NEPA Scene - news and pop culture for Northeastern Pennsylania.
